Wal-Mart Predicts Big Holiday-Sales Growth in Brazil

Bentonville, Ark., Wal-Mart expects a 20% increase in holiday sales this year, due to the more favorable economic environment and lower prices, according to Brazilian Retail News.

The company said sales of its private-label goods are expected to grow around 30%, especially for seasonal products like fruits, cakes, wines and nuts.

However, in some cases (such as computers and home accessories), prices may be 15% lower than last year.
