Wal-Mart Expands $4 Prescription List in Colorado

Denver Governor Bill Ritter, Colorado, on Wednesday will sign legislation that will allow Wal-Mart to expand the number of $4 prescriptions available to Colorado citizens. Wal-Mart is responding by making more than 60 additional 30-day prescriptions available at $4 in its Colorado pharmacies on Friday, June 6.

SB 246, which amends Colorado's Unfair Practices Act, permits retailers to sell prescriptions at discounted prices while ensuring that consumers and companies are protected against predatory pricing and monopolistic business practices.

"Our $4 prescription program was the first of its kind, and we will continue to lead the charge in providing customers with affordable choices," said Eric Seiboldt, regional pharmacy manager in Colorado. "The passage of this bill allows Wal-Mart to offer additional savings to our customers tomorrow morning."

Wal-Mart launched its $4 Prescription Program in September 2006.
