Bentonville, Ark. – Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is reportedly raising wages for some employees in specialized departments beginning in July. According to the Associated Press, managers of more complicated departments like automotive and electronics will have their pay range increased to $13 - $24.70 per hour, from $10.30 - $20.09 per hour.
In February 2016, those managers will have their minimum pay bumped to $15 per hour. In addition, managers of less complicated departments, such as luggage, will have their pay range increased to $10.90 - $20.71 from $9.90 - $19.31.
Also, non-management workers in specialized departments including wireless and deli will have their hourly pay range raised to $9.90 to $18.80, from $7.25 to $15.15. All Wal-Mart store employees will earn at least $10 per hour by February 2016, with the company investing $1 billion in employee wage increases.
