Wal-Mart Adds to $4 Medication Offerings
Bentonville, Ark., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has launched phase two of its low-cost prescription program, adding 24 more $4 drugs and introducing some $9 prescriptions.
The new prescriptions in the $4 program include drugs for glaucoma, attention deficit disorder/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), fungal infections and acne.
The company also added three $9 medications, which are generics for birth-control drugs and a generic for fertility medication.
After phase two of the program, Wal-Mart will offer a total of 361 drugs for $4 or $9.
