6/3/2015

Atlanta -- Von Maur Department Stores has completed the installation of a new shipping and receiving material handling system in Von Maur's distribution center in Davenport, Iowa.

Designed and integrated by Peach State, a professional services firm that provides strategic supply chain consulting and complex and automated material handling solutions, the system will support Von Maur's increased order processing as the company continues its strategic national expansion. The complex material handling system was designed to provide the most advantageous processes based on operational costs, labor availability, order quality elements, and projected store growth. It features 1.7 miles of powered conveyor and a 50,000-sq.-ft. mezzanine.

Von Maur currently operates 30 stores in 14 states – Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York, Ohio and Oklahoma – along with a 120,000-sq.-ft. e-commerce facility that drives its online business at Vonmaur.com.
