Vitamin Shoppe executive chairman named to Collective Brands board

TOPEKA, Kan. — Collective Brands has announced that Richard Markee has been elected to its board of directors, with a term to expire in 2014.

Markee has served as executive chairman of Vitamin Shoppe since April 4. He has served as a director since September 2006, and was non-executive chairman of the board and a director from April 2007 to September 2009. From Sept. 8, 2009 to April 4, he served as the company's CEO and as chairman of the board. He previously served as the president of Babies"R"Us from August 2004 to November 2007 and vice chairman of Toys"R"Us from May 2003 through November 2007.
