A new e-commerce integration will empower online retailers to sell goods directly through Instagram.
Springbot, an e-commerce marketing platform designed for online stores, has integrated with Instagram to allow the creation of customized shopping pages through a Magento or Shopify merchant’s Instagram profile. Springbot already provides the tracking of revenue attribution for retailers on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.
Retailers can create and brand their Instagram shopping page with a customized shopping gallery instantly, publishing a customized link to their profile. Additional Springbot Instagram features include the ability to allow online stores to send followers automated email reminders to visit their site later. With Springbot’s tracking tools, online retailers can identify hot-selling products and track the sales and revenue generated from Instagram.
There has been a flurry of social commerce activity lately, including the Twitter “Buy Now” button, the expansion of Pinterest Buyable Pins, and YouTube rolling out shoppable ads. And Instagram parent Facebook has been piloting various direct sales tools for more than a year.
Like Pinterest, Instagram has the added bonus of a strong visual component that can create an emotional reaction in consumers. Springbot will likely have competitors in the Instagram segment of social commerce, and maybe quite a few.
