Village Super Market Q4 profit drops
Springfield, N.J. Village Super Market said Friday that its profit fell 3.0% in the fourth quarter due to a litigation charge.
Village runs 26 Shop Rites in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
Earnings dipped to $6.7 million from $6.9 million a year earlier.
The company said its quarterly results were hurt by a $708,000 litigation charge.
Sales for the quarter ended July 25 grew 4.0% to $310.9 million.
Same-store sales rose 4.3%.
