Victoria's Secret noted for competitiveness
HERNDON, Va. Victoria’s Secret and Bed Bath & Beyond were rated as among the Top 10 most competitive companies in the United States according to a ranking by W Ratings, formerly Kanbay Research.
Victoria’s Secret was ranked sixth followed by Bed, Bath & Beyond at eighth.
The study compared companies and business segments based on measures of a company’s ability to achieve higher economic profit than rivals and sustain competitive advantage through moats, or barriers to entry, as rated by consumers. Google came in at the top and, Anheuser-Busch came in second as one of five beverage companies in the Top Ten, including Coca-Cola, Pepsi Cola, Heineken and Anheuser-Busch has a substantial stake in Grupo Modelo/Corona. Ross Stores, at 15, CVS, at 23, and Gymboree, at 24, were the other retailers to make the Top 40.
