Verizon reports Q2 customer growth

Basking Ridge, N.J. Verizon Wireless reported Thursday that it added 1.1 million net customers in second quarter 2009.

At the end of the quarter, the company had 87.7 million customers, including 85.2 million retail customers.

Quarterly financial results will be released July 27.
