Verizon launches mobile shopping service

10/23/2007

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., and BOULDER, Colo. Verizon Wireless has teamed up with mShopper to offer Verizon Wireless customers a way to browse, compare prices and shop for items right from their phones.

The service, available today on Verizon's Mobile Web 2.0 service, gives cell phone users access to mShopper's catalog of more than 9.2 million products from hundreds of quality online merchants including eLuxury, eBags, Bluefly and Shoes.com. In addition, mShopper has developed new enhanced features that will launch for the first time on Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web 2.0 service. mShopper's Browse lets Verizon Wireless customers browse by category and by merchant and the Hot Specials feature lets subscribers sign up to receive premium discounts and special offers direct from mShopper partner merchants.

Ryan Hughes, vp of digital programming for Verizon, said, "The addition of mShopper to our Mobile Web service offers our customers an easy- to-use mobile commerce application and serves as another example of how we put relevant, useful services in our customers' hands."
