U.S. Foodservice exec named to GLOBALGAP board
ROSEMONT, Ill. Jorge Hernandez, SVP food safety and quality assurance for U.S. Foodservice has been elected to the board of GLOBALGAP, an organization based in Cologne, Germany that works on the development of good agricultural practices.
"It's an honor to sit on the GLOBALGAP board along with world class experts who are leading the effort to improve the safety of the world's food supply," said Hernandez. "Recent history reminded us that we can no longer afford to believe that food safety is either a given or limited to other countries. Having the safest food supply means using the best food safety standards at every level - locally, nationally and, most important globally."
