Urban Brands files Chapter 11

New York City Urban Brands, which operates stores under the Ashley Stewart banner, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday.

The Seacaucus, N.J.-based retailer has signed an agreement with an affiliate of Gordon Brothers to buy the business out of bankruptcy proceedings, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
