Upscale retailers make landfall in Puerto Rico

2/13/2015

Puerto Rico is home to many retailers’ most productive units and now Saks and Nordstrom are looking to get in on the action when they open their first locations next month in the island’s new Mall of San Juan.

The mall is set to open March 26, two and a half years after breaking ground, and will contain a 138,000-sq.-ft. Nordstrom and a 100,000-sq.-ft. Saks. The property also includes a hotel and a casino.

The Mall of San Juan will be the first upscale mall in Puerto Rico and the first and only location on the island for both Nordstrom and Saks. The project will also include a hotel and casino, developed by New Century Development, Inc.

The Mall of San Juan is designed to reflect the rich culture and heritage of San Juan, but with a fresh, contemporary twist. The architecture will have a timeless character and utilize quality materials and finishes to enrich the shopping experience. Customer-friendly amenities along with easy parking and access will enhance the comfort and convenience of visitors.

The Mall of San Juan will include world-class retailers, the island’s only high fashion department stores, exquisite dining and entertainment. The Mall of San Juan is across from the San José Lagoon at the south end of the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, five minutes from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.
