Retailers and suppliers have a new ally in their efforts to unlock actionable insights from the proliferation of data thanks to what Enhanced Retail Solutions contends is groundbreaking new functionality in its Intelligent Retail Platform.
According to consulting and software solutions provider Enhanced Retail Solutions (ERS) the new functionality, dubbed RetailNarrative, added to its Intelligent Retail Platform leverages artificial intelligence to continuously scour millions of rows of point of sale and inventory data to uncover trends that result in enhanced predictive decision-making.
The software learns as it goes, revising its understanding of trends, including the most actionable information for the week and adjusting to the user’s preferences, according to ERS. It is truly virtual “eyes” sifting through sku-store combinations to find low-level and high-level recommendations. Because it sifts through the data in the background all the results have already been derived. When the user opens the dashboard, their selections and interactions are instant.
“Our system will ask all the right domain specific questions of the data, score the answers of those questions, and produce the top actionable items that could directly affect your business,” said Jim Lewis, CEO of Enhanced Retail Solutions.
ERS has been enabling the individual user to create the reports the way they want them -= as opposed to relying on canned or a limited range of customized reports. But those without planning background often do not know where to look or what to do with the information. Meanwhile, planners who dig into the details could still miss important detail buried in millions of rows of data.
“People with experience don’t have the time and the people with the time don’t have the experience to effectively utilize retail point of sales and demand planning data leaving unrealized sales and profit gains,” said ERS chief software architect Josh Coughlin.
