Unlikely allies: Obama and Walmart

In a scenario that few could have predicted, Walmart has emerged as one of President Obama’s most reliable corporate allies, a partner that has backed the White House on more than a dozen initiatives, including Obamacare and climate change, bloomberg.com reported.



The president, who once held up the chain as a symbol of corporate greed, completed his evolution from Walmart antagonist to fan when he visited one of the chain’s stores in Mountain View, California, in 2014 to praise its use of renewable energy, according to the report, which noted the partnership between the president and the retailer is especially strong in two areas: health care and climate change.
