United Retail Buyout Wait Period Ends Early

Rochelle Park, N.J., United Retail Group Inc. said the antitrust regulatory waiting period for its $193.6 million takeover by Redcats USA Inc. ended early.

U.S. federal antitrust agencies granted early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, United Retail Group said. Redcats USA, which markets apparel and home products by catalog and online, last month agreed to buy United Retail for $13.70 in cash via a tender offer.
