Tyson extends Facebook promo
A program Tyson Foods developed to encourage people to make healthy choices by eating more chicken has been extended to three months and involves Facebook as a key component.
Tyson last year began a program called, “Just Add This,” which encouraged people to make small adjustments to existing routines to form new habits that lead to a better, more healthful lifestyle. This year, the program was extended from one month to three months. Now through the end of March Tyson is recruiting people to join “Just Add This” at Facebook.com/GrilledAndReady by clicking on the Just Add This tab. When consumers visit the tab, they will find motivational tips to help them reach their goals, along with daily recipes, many of which involve Tyson’s Grilled & Ready chicken, and good-for-you prizes.
The program offers people guidance and tools to make smarter eating choices and identify ways of squeezing in some exercise, even for those with busy schedules. When visiting the program tab, people will find tips and recipes made with 100% natural Grilled & Ready chicken, and the will also have the opportunity of entering for a chance to win weekly prize giveaways, such as a Trek bicycle, Lululemon gift card and Kindle Fire tablet.
“Helping people reinforce changes they make in January to become long term habits is our goal; so we decided to run this program for three months instead of one month, as we’ve done in previous years,” said Dan Uskert, product manager for Tyson Foods. “We all have busy schedules that can make it difficult to eat well. By incorporating better food choices, such as 97% fat-free Grilled & Ready chicken, people can make effortless, healthy meals at home, even when pressed for time.”
Tyson is also encouraging consumers to share how they’ve been making smarter food choices in 2014 that involve chicken. The company is inviting them to show how they improved a recipe by adding Grilled & Ready chicken or by taking an existing recipe that includes Grilled & Ready chicken and adding other good-for-you ingredients. One winner receives an all-expense-paid weekend to a Taste of Home Cooking School where they will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their recipes to other cooks.
