Bentonville now has something in common with Buenos Aires, Seoul, Bangalore and Istanbul.
Walmart’s home town is now home to Tyco Retail Solutions’ newest Retail Experience Center, a 5,000-sq.-ft. facility designed to showcase the capabilities of a global company best known for its broad range of security and inventory management solutions.
Located at 1702 Southwest Commerce Drive one mile from Walmart’s home office, the state-of-the-art facility branded as the Walmart Retail Experience Center features a retail environment designed to look like a Walmart store. The objective, according to Tyco, is to offer Walmart’s global executives an opportunity to access and engage with Tyco’s range of safety, security, and store performance solutions such as RFID-based traffic and inventory intelligence, Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), source tagging, video surveillance, fire suppression, fire detection and intrusion detection.
“Connecting with our retail customers is fundamental to ensuring we are solving their problems and helping grow their business,” said Nancy Chisholm, president of Tyco Retail Solutions. “Our new center gives the Walmart team a unique opportunity to experience our innovative solutions in a personalized, high-impact, interactive environment. This one-to-one engagement helps drive breakthrough technology tailored to the needs of our customers.”
Tyco operates 12 retail centers worldwide in all manner of exotic locations (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dusseldorf, Mexico City, Singapore, Barcelona, Madrid) as well as near it headquarters in Boca Raton, Fl. However, the Bentonville location is the first center built exclusively for one client, which Tyco said demonstrates the company’s commitment to helping the world’s largest retailers capitalize on innovations that foster the customer experience and deliver on omni-channel retail success.
The center complements Tyco’s worldwide Walmart service network, which includes its Global Account Center of Excellence in Birmingham, Alabama, its regional Source Tagging Certification Centers, and local installation and service offices worldwide, according to Tyco. The company operates in more than 70 countries and its products and services are used by 80% of the world’s top 200 retailers.
