Two Super G Supermarkets to Close

Philadelphia, The restructuring of Stop & Shop/Giant, a major East Coast grocery retailer, will result in the closure of two area units in August, and several others will change their names.

Underperformance is cited as the reason for the closings. About 400 employees will be affected.

Four Super G stores will soon become Stop & Shops, joining a new Stop & Shop opening mid-August in nearby Harrison, Pa.
