Payless ShoeSource and Marshalls will be opening their doors in the coming week in the Butler North power center of Butler Enterprises’ 267-acre retail park in Gainesville, Florida. Walmart Supercenter, Sam’s Club, Lowe’s, and Dick’s Sporting Goods made their debuts there earlier this year.
The Butler family, a longtime fixture in Gainesville, continues to enlarge its retail footprint in the city by adding to the Butler Plaza they opened in the ‘80s. That center houses Target, Publix, Trader Joe’s, Best Buy, and Regal Cinemas.
Coming in 2018 is Butler Town Center, a mixed-use center with residential housing that aims to bring new-to-market retailers to Gainesville. The Town Center’s first tenant will actually emerge in 2017, when Florida’s first 365 by Whole Foods Market opens there. When completed, the Butler complex will comprise 1.9 million sq. ft. of retail space.
