Twittering about the Web
Twitter has become a popular outlet for retailers to connect directly with consumers, and Target is no exception. The company has been using the social networking site, which enables members to “tweet” on what they are doing through 140-character updates. Target is followed by more than 2,000 members, and the company does a good job of producing timely updates, as well as replying to the questions, concerns and comments of the Twitter membership, which can be seen by all followers of Target at http://www.Twitter.com/TargetINC. This type of direct interaction between a retailer and its consumers appears to be a growing trend and others will likely follow Target’s suit.
