True Value expands again in PIttsburgh
The True Value Company family has expanded with the addition of Pittsburgh-based Busy Beaver Home Improvement Centers.
"We're thrilled for our customers and associates that Busy Beaver will now partner with True Value," said Busy Beaver CEO Joe Kallen. "Busy Beaver and True Value are both focused on transformational change to better serve our customers; this fundamental alignment in strategy is what sold us on selecting True Value as our growth partner."
Busy Beaver, which now operates 16 full-line home improvement centers in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, was founded in 1962 in Pittsburgh as a distributor of roofing, lumber and building materials.
The company has been under new ownership since late 2013, however, and it currently employs over 300 people.
Busy Beaver will be serviced by the co-op's regional distribution center in Cleveland, joining over 20 other True Value stores that currently operate in the Pittsburgh area.
"We are pleased to welcome Busy Beaver to the True Value family," said president and CEO John Hartmann. "Not only does it support our strategic pillar of growth, it will also enhance our ability to serve our customers in the Northeast -- driving significant value for our customers and members."
