10/4/2013

The 2014 International CES will feature a new exhibit area called “FashionWare,” focused on the latest innovation in wearable technology, event organizers announced.

Scheduled for January 7-10 in Las Vegas, the CES show, the timing is right for the FashionWare concept because the worlds of apparel, accessories and technology are becoming integrated, so much so in fact that event organizers are planning a wearable technology fashion show.

“From jackets that adjust based on outside temperatures to solar-charging handbags and more, innovations in wearable technology are shaping the industry,” said Karen Chupka, SVP of International CES and corporate business strategy with the Consumer Electronics Association. “The FashionWare TechZone integrates style, function and technology to create a wow-factor, high-tech space at the 2014 CES.”

Among the companies participating in the FashionWare exhibition are Brother, CLO Virtual Fashion, Inc., FashionTEQ and Velodyne. In addition, FashionWare is part of a larger TechZone concept CES has put together with Living in Digital Times. The TechZone includes eight lifestyle focused exhibit areas that in addition to FashionWare include Kids@Play, MommyTech, Silvers Summit, TransformingEDU, Digital Health Summit, Fitness Tech, Last Gadget Standing and Mobile Apps Showdown.
