Trans World Entertainment closing Ohio DC

ALBANY, N.Y. Trans World Entertainment today reported it will close its North Canton, Ohio distribution center as part of its program to streamline its operations.

The company reported that operations at the Canton center will end over the next two months, affecting 234 employees. The company's remaining distribution centers, located in Albany, N.Y. and Carson, Calif., will continue to serve Trans World Entertainment's stores. Additionally, the company announced the closing of its fixture facility in Johnstown, N.Y., affecting 18 employees.

Trans World Entertainment's announcement of closing of its DC in Ohio follows reports last week that the company is planning to close about 130 stores over the next month.
