Toys'R'Us not playing around with holiday hiring
WAYNE, N.J. — Toys"R"Us is getting ready for the increased demand this holiday season by hiring 45,000 seasonal employees to staff its stores and distribution centers across the country this holiday season.
This number represents an increase from the approximately 40,000 seasonal workers hired last year, driven in part by the addition of positions in Toys"R"Us stores designated specifically to help fulfill orders resulting from the company's newly enhanced omnichannel offerings such as "buy online, pick up in store," "ship from store" and "ship to store."
Toys"R"Us is also enticing potential seasonal employees with the potential to become full-time associates. Last year, approximately 15% of the holiday workforce retained positions with Toys"R"Us after the season ended.
"Christmas is truly the Toys"R"Us time of year, and having knowledgeable, toy-trained associates in our stores to help customers find the perfect toy for the child in their lives is a big part of what differentiates us as a specialty retailer," said Dan Caspersen, EVP human resources for Toys"R"Us, Inc. "Whether customers come to our stores to pick up an online order, make a hot toy reservation or take advantage of Free Layaway, our seasonal staff is integral in providing exceptional service and assisting them in successfully checking items off their holiday wish lists."
