October 2013: 17-year Toys “R” Us veteran Antonio Urcelay is named chairman and CEO after serving in an interim role for five months.
February 2013: Gerald Storch resigns as CEO, ending a seven-year run.
April 2011: Neil Friedman is named president of Toys “R” Us, U.S. after previously serving as president of toymaker Mattel Brands.
September 2009: Ron Boire resigns from Toys “R” Us.
September 2007: Former Best Buy executive Ron Boire is named president of Toys “R” Us, North America after joining the company in July 2006 as president of Toys “R” Us, U.S.
February 2006: Gerald Storch is named chairman and CEO after spending 12 years at Target, ultimately serving as vice chairman.
July 2005: Toys “R” Us vice chairman and Babies “R” Us president Richard Markee is named interim CEO after John Eyler, chairman and CEO since 2000, steps down.
June 2005: Toys “R” Us shareholders agreed to be acquired by Bain Capital Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Vornado Realty Trust.
