Wayne, N.J. Based on the success of its new “R” Market destination section, Toys “R” Us is expanding the concept to more locations nationwide.

“R” Market, a new department that features an assortment of affordable merchandise, is currently located in the front of more than 260 Toys “R” Us stores. It displays such merchandise as snacks, beverages, candy, bathtub toys, paper goods, and laundry and cleaning supplies.

“Our business strategy focuses on improving the shopping experience for customers in our stores," said Jerry Storch, chairman and CEO, Toys "R" Us. “The ‘R’ Market offers customers an edited presentation of differentiated, kid-focused products from well-known manufacturers, as well as newer brands."

The department features approximately 1,300 items.
