Tops rebrands former P&C stores in central New York
Syracuse, N.Y. Buffalo, N.Y.-based Tops Markets will rebrand 20 former Penn Traffic P&C supermarkets in central New York on Wednesday as Tops Markets.
According to a report by The Post Standard, Tops, which acquired the assets of the defunct Syracuse, N.Y.-based The Penn Traffic Co. last January, has been remaking Penn Traffic’s P&C stores and other supermarket chains.
In all, Tops bought 79 Penn Traffic grocery stores in New York and Pennsylvania and kept 48. Tops had 71 stores before the acquisition.
