Top Target executives share store design philosophy

Target’s EVP of stores, Tina Schiel, and senior group manager of store planning, Nancy Devine, dug through the retailer’s photo archive and weighed in on the company’s evolving design philosophy.


“Target locates departments within the store with our guests’ convenience in mind,” Schiel said in a post on the company’s online magazine, A Bullseye View. “Everyday items like paper products, for example, are at the front of the store, and we group similar departments (such as electronics, entertainment and toys) together, which makes navigation easier for our guests.”
