Top consumer trends for 2011
New York City Consumers will shop for bargains, look online for deals, and work beyond retirement age in 2011, according to global market research firm Mintel.
Mintel offered nine predictions about consumer behavior in Great Britain and America over the coming year, ranging from the rising use of smartphones to new gender roles of women and men in its "Consumer Trends for 2011" report.
"These consumer trends for 2011 are a legacy created by economics, but now gathering their own momentum and are set to influence the global consumer mindset for a long time to come," said Alexandra Smith, Mintel Global Trends analyst, in a statement.
