Timberland: Adds New Data Warehouse

2/1/2008

Eager to gain visibility into its global sales and distribution channels, The Timberland Co. is currently implementing a new data warehouse solution from Teradata, Dayton, Ohio.

Timberland, a Stratham, N.H.-based designer and retailer of outdoor footwear, apparel and accessories, is committed to expanding its brand across the marketplace. By adding an end-to-end data warehouse solution, the company will be primed “to drive improvements in our business performance in the first half of 2008 and beyond,” said Rosalee Hermens, the company’s VP and CIO.

The company also expects the solution to quickly deliver more accurate information and enhanced analytics to its users.

The company is currently installing Teradata servers, database software and the vendor’s retail logical data models. Timberland also purchased Teradata Professional Services to support system maintenance during and following implementation. Timberland expects to be using the solution before the end of the first quarter.
