Thousands of Kohl's employees volunteering for kids health

Kohl’s is looking to make a difference in the lives of many of its customers with a vast volunteer effort involving all its stores, thousands of its employees and 160 hospitals.


Kohl's employees will be participating in hundreds of volunteer events across the country, supporting nearly 160 hospitals and other organizations committed to children’s health. The volunteer events will focus on health and wellness and take place July 17 through September 4. In recognition of associate volunteer hours, Kohl’s will donate more than $500,000 in corporate grants to the benefiting organizations.


“Kohl’s associates are passionate about making a difference and we believe volunteer efforts can improve lives of children and families in the communities we call home,” said Bevin Bailis, Kohl’s senior vice president of communications and public relations. “We have incredible community partners and are honored to be able to lend a helping hand to these organizations.”


Volunteer events taking place throughout the country, include:




  • A run dedicated to raising funds for pediatric brain tumor research in Chicago, Ill.


  • Bike helmet fitting and giveaway in Seattle, Wash.


  • Oral hygiene supplies and information provided through a dental outreach program in Richmond, Va.


  • A car seat safety inspection in Philadelphia, Pa.


  • Since 2001, more than one million Kohl’s associates nationwide have participated in volunteer activities through Kohl’s Associates in Action volunteer program resulting in nearly $100 million in corporate grants to qualifying youth-serving 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
