TGT and food supplier set NRF date
NEW YORK -A seminar on collaborative merchandising initiatives at the upcoming National Retail Federation convention should draw considerable interest due to the involvement of Target and ConAgra Foods. The seminar is sponsored by DemandTec, a company whose suite of merchandising solutions have been used by both companies since 2007. The session will be facilitated by DemandTec’s SVP consumer products Rob Culin.
The seminar is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York and is titled, “Target’s Guests: Key to Decision-Marking and Vendor Collaboration.” Event organizers promise the session will offer attendees a look at how Target orients everything it does around its customers with Shelley Hyytinen, VP merchandising process and system development due to highlight the cornerstones of the company’s approach, give practical examples of leveraging market insights, customer segmentation and merchandising optimization technology, according to event organizers. Joining Hyytinen is Doug Knudsen, president of sales at ConAgra Foods who will provide insights on the applicability of active collaboration between consumer products companies and their retail trading partners.
