Target’s Ward says don’t expect order
Laysha Ward was among top business executives and celebrities who participated in the Network of Executive Women’s Executive Leaders Forum July 23-25 near Los Angeles. Ward, along with HSN CEO Mindy Grossman and actress turned activist Gina Davis, share insights about the state of women in business today and their personal experiences.
In Ward’s case, she recounted how while awaiting an assignment in the Peace Corps she accepted a part-time job on the sales floor at Target’s former Marshall Field’s division. It ignited her passion for retail and altered the course of a career. Today, Ward is one of the retailer industry’s highest ranked executives and oversees and extensive community relations effort at Target which is intertwined with the company’s business objectives.
