Target's next big thing: Lilly Pulitzer
Target shoppers looking for the next big thing in fashion are in for a splash of color and bold prints from the retailer’s next design partner.
Target has announced it is collaborating with American resort wear brand Lilly Pulitzer on a limited-edition collection featuring 15 exclusive prints, which are original works of art.
“This spring, we wanted to offer our guests a collection that embraced color, print and pattern in a bold, fresh way,” said Stacia Andersen, senior vice president, apparel and accessories at Target. “As we started to think about the perfect partner to collaborate with, Lilly Pulitzer was the clear choice given the brand’s inspiring heritage, authority with print and pattern and resort-chic aesthetic.”
The Lilly Pulitzer collection for Target will be available exclusively at all stores in the United States and Canada and on Target.com beginning April 19. The 250-piece collection includes apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls, as well as home accents, outdoor entertaining accessories, beach gear, travel essentials and more.
“Target is a design leader known for offering an unparalleled assortment of stylish, affordable products,” said Jane Schoenborn, vice president, creative communications, Lilly Pulitzer. “The Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection marks a new chapter for our brand, and we’re excited to give Lilly fans everywhere, including those who have loved the brand for years and those who will get to know it for the first time through this collaboration, a chance to experience this incredibly chic lifestyle collection.”
The Pulitzer brand is known for having a rabid fan base. And Target hopes the collection, timed to hit stores just before bikini season, will attract a whole new audience.
"We wanted bring this story of Lilly Pulitzer -- and how she created this style -- to everybody," Schoenborn added. "Everybody, I'm happy to report, also includes women with curvier figures. While many Target collaborations only go up to a size 16, there will be plenty of plus-size options with this collection.”
