Target rolls out beauty concierge program

5/26/2013

LOS ANGELES — Target has launched a beauty concierge program at 96 existing stores in Los Angeles and Orange County area.

Participating stores will be staffed with a Target beauty concierge, a brand agnostic beauty enthusiast who will offer customers personalized service. The brand concierge will be charged with answering any questions customers may have and offer unbiased information about personal care products offered at Target. They will be stationed in the beauty aisle at Target wearing a distinct black apron.

“Target is excited to offer this unique, special service to our Los Angeles and Orange County area guests — guests whom we know are passionate about beauty,” explained Cary Strouse, Target’s SVP of stores in the Western region. “In an often crowded and sometimes daunting marketplace, Target’s beauty concierge program ensures that guests receive the friendly, personalized assistance and counsel they need, while purchasing their favorite beauty products at affordable prices.”

In addition, the program will launch in 27 stores in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Baltimore area, 36 stores in Minneapolis and expand by an additional 41 stores in Chicago, with approximately 200 stores implementing the program this year.

Target operates 1,784 in the United States and 46 in Canada, as well as its e-commerce site.
