Target reports 10.8% increase in July sales
MINNEAPOLIS Target Corp. today reported that its net retail sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 4 increased 10.8% to $4.4 billion from $4 billion for the four-week period ended July 29, 2006. On this same basis, comparable-store sales increased 6.1%.
"As expected, sales for the month of July benefited from a calendar shift and were in line with our planned increase in the range of 5% to 7%," said Bob Ulrich, chairman and ceo of Target Corp.
