Target Opens First Washington D.C. Store
Washington D.C. Target Corp. will open its first store in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, anchoring DC USA—the largest retail project in the nation's capital. The three-story urban shopping mall has been cited as a sign of the city's revitalization following decades of neglect.
The $145 million mall in a densely populated and diverse section of northwest Washington also gives residents the kind of large-scale retailers they previously had to visit by traveling to the suburbs, officials said. Besides Target, the complex will include such stores as Best Buy, Marshalls and Bed, Bath & Beyond, which will open in the coming weeks.
