Target opens 26 new stores nationwide
MINNEAPOLIS Target announced the opening of 26 new stores. 21 locations are general merchandise stores, 18 of which have expanded food options. Five locations are full-grocery SuperTarget stores. The stores will celebrate grand openings on Sunday, Oct. 11.
These new Target store openings will create more than 5,000 new jobs. Interested individuals can apply for positions at www.Target.com/careers or apply at the new stores.
The 21 new general merchandise stores all feature everyday essentials, an assortment of food and seasonal merchandise. They offer amenities such as a Starbucks, Target CafeSM and Target PharmacySM.
In addition, 18 of these general merchandise stores will offer expended food options. This new format has an open-market layout and features new food additions including basic fresh produce and packaged meat along with baked goods.
All general merchandise stores employ 100-250 team members. General merchandise stores are approximately 127,000 square feet and general merchandise locations with an expanded food assortment are 135,000 square feet.
The five new SuperTarget stores offer a general merchandise store with a full-scale grocery. Additional merchandise options include fresh produce, an on-site bakery and deli. Each SuperTarget employs 200-300 team members and is approximately 186,000 square feet.
General merchandise locations include Anchorage South, Alaska; Davis, Calif.; and DeKalb, Ill. General merchandise locations with expanded food assortment include Blue Springs, Mo.; Sunnyvale, Calif.; Sioux Falls East, S.D.; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Portland NE, Ore.; D’Iberville, Miss.; Wauwatosa, Wis.; Kyle, Texas; Brea, Calif.; Middletown, Ky.; Henderson SW, Nev.; Springfield West, Pa.; Bakersfield West, Calif.; St. Matthews, Ky.; Culver City South, Calif.; Hanover, Mass.; Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and Lowell, Mass.
Locations receiving a SuperTarget include Highlands Ranch, Colo.; Tucson North, Ariz.; Hoover West, Ala.; Mesquite, Texas; and Tulsa South, Okla.
