Target June comps growth above forecast

MINNEAPOLIS Target reported a net retail sales increase of 6.6% to $5.8 billion for the fiscal month from $5.5 billion for the same period last year. On this same basis, June comparable-store sales increased 0.4%.

“Our comparable-store sales performance in June was slightly above our planned range,” said Gregg Steinhafel, president and ceo of Target.
