Target Corp. is whetting customers appetites for its hotly anticipated “anniversary collection” that celebrates 20 years of limited-time designer partnerships.
The discounter has released an online “look book” of all the items in the collection, which launches in Target stores and online on Sept. 14. The assortment includes nearly 300 items from 20 of the retailer’s favorite designer collaborations, including a popular item from its first partnership, launched in 1969 with architect/designer Michael Graves: the spinning whistle teakettle ($50). The anniversary collection will include apparel, accessories, home decor and kitchen essentials, with the selection to vary by store. Prices will range from $7 to $160. And as always is the case with Target’s limited-time partnerships, product will be available while supplies last.
“Two decades ago, when we first set out to make beautifully designed products affordable, we created a movement in retail and culture that proclaimed that design could be—and should be—for all,” said Rick Gomez, executive VP and chief marketing and digital officer, Target. “This anniversary collection takes our guests on a nostalgic journey through our designer collaboration history where they can discover products that they’ll fall in love with all over again, or for some, for the very first time.”
