Target Delays Decision on Credit-Card Business

New York City, Target Corp. said on Wednesday that the review of its credit-card business is taking longer than expected, partly due to current market conditions.

The discount retailer said it now plans to announce a decision on possible alternative ownership structures for the business in the first calendar quarter of 2008.

In September, Target said it was weighing a sale of its credit-card assets, and it had previously said it would make a decision on the business by the end of December.
