Talbots renews Web site and unveils pants designs


HINGHAM, Mass. Talbots unveiled the re-launch of its Web site with new functionality, features and personalization that align its online shopping experience with its in-store product offerings and catalog customer service.

The updated site is designed to improve the online shopping experience, with features including “shop by outfit.” The site also includes new sections such as “Pearls of Wisdom,” which offers fashion advice on the latest styles and Talbots collections and “Style Advisor,” Talbots personal shopping service to help find a specific outfit, gift or accessories. The site also offers customers the opportunity to create a personalized area to store preferences and a wish list and a “Special Sale Section,” providing weekly online specials, savings and events taking place in Talbots stores.

Talbots also announced that it has launched a new pant fit initiative that debuts today in stores nationwide, online and in its Sept. catalog. Re-invented by Katharine Hepburn and Grace Kelly, Talbots has designed three new styles of pants to complement women’s different shapes and sizes. The styles are defined primarily by where the pant sits on the waist. Beginning today through Oct. 31, customers who try on a pair of pants at any of Talbots 580+ stores with an in-store fit expert will receive a $5 savings card toward any merchandise purchase. Talbots is also introducing new labels and hangtags for the pants to educate customers on the difference between the new fits.
