Talbots to Open Outlet Locations

Boston Talbots is planning to open stores in upscale outlet malls next year, according to Talbots Inc. CEO Trudy Sullivan. It also plans to open about 30 upscale outlet shops over the next three years.

The locations, slated to debut in late spring, will feature merchandise priced about 40% lower than at its other stores.

Talbots, which already has some liquidation stores, has already signed leases to open 12 outlet stores next year.
