Syms narrows loss in Q1
Secaucus, N.J. Syms Corp. said Thursday that it narrowed its loss in the first quarter as sales improved following its acquisition of Filene's Basement.
The company reported a loss of $809,000 versus a loss of $2 million in the same quarter of the prior year.
Revenue more than doubled to $121.5 million from $50.3 in the prior-year quarter, reflecting the impact of Filene's Basement.
Syms acquired Filene's in second quarter 2009.
