Supervalu will sell six bigg’s stores, close five others

New York Supervalu said Monday it has agreed to sell six Cincinnati-area bigg’s grocery stores and their pharmacies to Remke Markets Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

The deal is expected to close this spring, giving Erlanger, Ky.-based Remke 13 locally owned and operated grocery stores in Ohio and northern Kentucky.

Supervalu plans to close its five remaining bigg’s stores before the end of May.
