Supervalu to supply regional grocer

Supervalu Inc. will serve as primary wholesaler for Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets.



Supervalu has entered into a long-term supply agreement with, and will also provide some professional services to Marsh, which operates approximately 70 Marsh Supermarkets and O’Malia Food Markets stores across Indiana and Ohio. Marsh also operates 38 pharmacy locations.



In its role as primary wholesaler, Supervalu will supply all Marsh Supermarkets and O’Malia Food Markets stores with traditional product categories including produce, meat, deli, bakery, seafood, grocery, frozen foods and dairy. Marsh stores will also sell private label Supervalu products.



Additionally, Supervalu will provide certain professional services and merchandising support to Marsh, including merchandise planning, strategic retail pricing analysis, and shelf management programs. Marsh will also have access to Supervalu’s new SV Insights business intelligence tool and mobile order entry system.

The transition of stores is expected to be completed by approximately the end of September.
