Supervalu sells Payson Store Fixtures division
Minneapolis Supervalu has sold its Payson Store Fixtures division to DGS Retail in Boston for an undisclosed amount, according to a Tuesday press release from Quazar Capital Corp., the Minneapolis investment banking firm that represented Payson on the deal.
Payson designs and manufactures a broad range of fixtures, millwork and decor elements for supermarkets, pharmacies and other retailers. Supervalu acquired the division, formerly known as the Albersons Mill, in its 2006 acquisition of the Albertsons grocery chain.
Like Payson, DGS also designs and manufactures custom decor, millwork and store fixtures for major retailers, including grocers, pharmacies and boutique retailers.
The addition of Payson’s 200,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space in Utah will more than double DGS’s production capabilities. DGS also has manufacturing facilities in Boston and Tampa, Fla.
