Supervalu appoints new investor relations vp

MINNEAPOLIS Supervalu announced that it has named Robert Johnson vp of investor relations, effective Jan. 5, 2009. Johnson will be responsible for the company’s overall investor relations strategy and will report to Pam Knous, evp and cfo.

Johnson comes to Supervalu following 32 years with JCPenney, during which he served in a number of capacities within the company’s finance function, including accounting, internal audit, financial reporting and investor relations.

Johnson will succeed David Oliver, who has served in the vp of investor relations role on an interim basis since earlier this year. Oliver will continue to serve in a leadership role within the company’s finance department.
